- Install and sign in to at least one coding agent first, such as Codex (codex login) or Claude Code (claude auth login).
- Get T3 Code: download the desktop app for Windows, Mac or Linux from t3.codes, or run npx t3@latest.
- Open your Git project and start a new thread for each task. Choose New worktree so each thread gets its own branch and folder.
- Press Cmd/Ctrl+Enter to start a thread in the background, then start the next one.
- To compare models, Shift-click several models to send the same prompt to each, each in its own thread and worktree.
- Review each thread's work, and clear old worktrees in Settings > Storage.
Why T3 Code
T3 Code is a free, open-source (MIT) control plane for coding agents: one app to run Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, Grok Build, Google Antigravity and others side by side, with a separate Git worktree per task so agents don't trip over each other. You only pay your own AI provider. Its makers say it's very early, so expect bugs.
When to choose Conductor instead
Choose Conductor if you're on a Mac and want a polished review flow: each task gets its own workspace with a branch, terminal and diff, and you can open a pull request, merge or archive it from the app. Local use is free; Pro ($50/mo) adds cloud workspaces.
